Today we’re going to start a little differently. Basically, we’re trying to be poetic here with a quote that reads: “Details make Perfection, and Perfection is not a Detail” - Leonardo Da Vinci.
Talking about details and perfection, there’re songs that you can recognize by a single note (a little detail in fact) such as: Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Child O’ Mine or Thunderstruck, and so on. So first, we recommend you hop on Spotify or Youtube to put on the last track while you are reading this one.
We are in Milano, in a foggy February day and we got a text from Samuele (aka @supercarsofmilan) saying: “I found this cool a** place, you have to see it!” and he sent us a link: https://www.marietticarsgarage.it/home-page/
First thing we noticed is that the website gives you the possibility to choose the language between English, Italian and Milanese (the Milan dialect), brilliant.
Scrolling down, we see cars that can’t certainly pass unnoticed. The thing starts to intrigue us. At that point, we had to get up and call Luca, the heart of Marietti Cars Garage.
With the usual hesitation of “who knows who we’ll talk to” - Luca answers us, and happens to be a fantastic human being that, with extreme enthusiasm starts to tell us what Marietti Cars Garage is and what they do (or he does).
In substance, Luca is a Car Detailer that brings back to life old cars and pieces, creates pieces of art, and offers different types of services.
Then you can rent his masterpieces, store your car in a safe space with different packages, restore the beauty of your car, rent the place, and so on...
We know what you’re thinking and you’re right. It’s amazing.
Obviously, our telephone conversation led to a face-to-face conversation a few days later, when we went to visit Luca. And that’s how the magic happened. Upon entering, you immediately see automotive memorabilia everywhere (a pleasure for the eyes) of which you can see the photos.
Then Luca takes us on a tour of the place, where he shows us some magnificent cars (and perfectly maintained) such as: a Charger… yep, the General Lee; a BMW M3 E30, E36 and E46, the last one Oxford Green, a color that wow (We won't say much about them, because you’ll see them in dedicated photoshoot), one of the very few M5 E28 ever produced. Yeah exactly… a fully restored M5 E28 by him, that is so clean that you can eat on it.
Of course, we’ll be back dedicating photoshoots to these beauties. Engines apart, what left me very surprised is that Luca doesn’t have any assistant in that paradise. He created and maintained everything himself, with his hands and his brilliant mind.
It amazes us because he’s just 10 years older than us… and we find it hard to make ourself a plate of pasta with sauce without putting the kitchen on fire. He seems to have lived like 3/4 more lives. Chapeau.
Anyway, it is better that way. At least we have someone who churns out beauties in this shaky world. The only sure thing is that we’ll be back here at Marietti. Oh yeah, we’ll be back. We will show you much more about this magical world, made of cars, memorabilia, passion and why not, perfection (if you believe in it).
So, stay tuned here, on Nostalgear. The journey continues.
Thanks to Luca Marietti, the owner of Marietti Cars Garage. And thanks also to Samuele, aka @supercarsofmilan
